CRS Drops, 3900 INVITES ISSUED IN THE LATEST EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW

Highlights
Date: 05.08.2020
Draw #: 158th Express Entry
Total Invites: 3,900 (FSWP)
Total Invites since Jan 2020: 61,600
Lowest CRS Score: 476 Points
The Express Entry draw held on 5th Aug was an all program draw to target FSWP candidates. The minimum CRS scores requirements drop 2 points as compared to the previous draw held on July 7. Now the candidates need 476 points to secure an invite.
The higher CRS cut-off is a result of a considerable gap in the FSW draw and IRCC conducted regular draws of CEC and PNP candidates only. The present draw selected candidates with CRS scores who would have otherwise been invited in earlier months had the COVID-19 pandemic not impacted the pace and manner in which the draws were conducted.
This draw is also the 25th draw of the year 2020 and the total number of invites issued so far stands at 61,600. The number of invites issued to date is also unprecedented which reflects and predicts the commitment of the Government of Canada to conduct bigger draws in the future. Since the announcement of the global travel restrictions due to the pandemic, since March the IRCC held 21 draws and invited around 40,000 candidates.
